What you get with us:
4 x 2.5 hour weekly sessions with a qualified Hypnobirthing instructor - Tasha, Katie or Annie- who all have their own personal experience of hypnobirthing and preparing for labour (that’s only £60 per session when you think about it!).
3 months access to our online hubs: an online copy of all of our course materials and ‘how-to’ videos, pregnancy and birth library and postnatal guidance curated by us. Crammed full of evidence-based sources.
A printed copy of our 100+ page Course Companion: full of everything you need to know (see topics below), space for you to reflect and activities for you and your birth partner to work through together (worth £50).
Guided Relaxations: these can help you rewire your brain to associate birth with a state of relaxation- we’ll explain how on the course!
Our Complete Birth Plan Package with a clear ‘menu’ of birth icons to cut and stick on to your own preferences, two versions of the birth plans for you to choose from, some stickers for your notes and a step-by-step guide to completing a plan that allows you to adapt and stay calm on the day (worth £8).
A thorough (tried and tested) birth bag list- with our own sample bag you can snoop through!
Practical and logical guidance for your birth partner: they are included in everything and are integral to your birth experience! No spare parts here!
Access to POSITIVE birth videos and birth stories to shake the countless tales of horror– you’ll have been told– out of your subconscious!
A community of like-minded parents with babies due at a similar time to yours- this can be a lifeline at 3am when you are all up doing the night feeds and need some mutual moan-time.
Ongoing support in our exclusive group Whatsapp and the chance for a 30 min catch up before the birth if you have any final questions or have had any final appointments that throw up changes to your birth preferences.
A rather delicious selection of drinks and snacks- Tunnocks tea cakes and Fruitella seem to be the overall favourites…
An invite to one of our reunion meet-ups once the baby is here.
Our directory of local experts: we know midwives, doulas, sleep consultants, breastfeeding and lactation consultants, women’s health therapists and pelvic floor physiotherapists, perinatal psychotherapists, relationship counsellors, speech and language therapists, first aid trainers - to name just a few. It takes a village to raise a parent and we’ve got you covered!
Our course topics (just some of the questions we’ll answer):
The birthing mindset: how can I help my body and mind work together in birth?
How can I overcome my fear of birth (birther AND partner)?
What do contractions feel like, what do they achieve and how do I cope with them?
How can I feel in control during my birth?
Hormones: how to boost them during labour?
What are the pros and cons of medicated pain relief versus unmedicated options?
Where should I give birth and how to adapt my environment to make it birth-friendly?
Is homebirth safe?
What to pack in my hospital bag or birth bag?
What does it mean to be a good birth partner? How can I keep the birther calm during labour? What do the logistics of birth look like?
How can you advocate for yourself when your preferences aren’t being listened to or you have special circumstances in pregnancy?
How can you make difficult, on-the spot decisions when you are giving birth?
What does giving informed consent look like during pregnancy and birth?
How do I write a birth plan when I don’t know what all my options are?
What are the stages of labour and what coping mechanisms can I use?
How will I know when I am in labour?
How will I know when or how to push?
How can I prevent tearing or an episiotomy?
What happens during an assisted delivery, induction or caesarean?
What do I need to know about the postpartum period or the fourth trimester?
What do I need to know about mental health and postnatal life?
Where do I get support with breastfeeding?
If I don’t want to breastfeed, what are my options for bottle feeding?
Things you WON’T get on a course with us:
Judgement: we are not here to tell you how to birth or parent. We are here to support you to make the best decisions for your body and your baby. All birth, all ways is our motto- we talk about spontaneous vaginal birth, induction, caesarean and medicated forms of pain relief for this reason.
Embarrassment: we are not here to put you on the spot or make you feel silly- talking about something so intimate can be hard for a lot of birthers and their partners and we are here to respect that!
Pregnancy relaxation in our class: there is a lot to cram in and theory we need to learn, before even attempting the peaceful part. We give you homework each week to practise the hypnobirthing techniques in your own time; it is essential that you commit to this practice personally in order to rewire your brains!
No practising bathing babies or learning how to change nappies: our classes do cover the postnatal period, but our focus is YOU and YOUR BODY primarily. Our online hub has links to guides that can help you with babycare, but we are here to nurture your pregnancy and birth experience first and foremost.
